16/04/2022 Time stopped, Yoica was on her way for training on her racing bike when she had a tragic accident involving a truck. Because of that she lost a part of her leg. Yoica was lying down helpless on the asphalt… with life threating injuries, but miraculously she stayed clear and because of her first aid training she knew what to do. It took a long time before the ambulance arrived. Once in the hospital, she had emergency surgery. Yoica stays strong. Normally on the 1st of May she had to take part on her first competitive cycling race. Yoica’s life goal: There is only one road and this road goes forward. And for this she needs your help. So she can make her dream come true! Because with just a new sports prosthesis, she will not be able to make it, the costs will keep piling up from now on. Like adjusting the prosthesis, a new car, adjustments in the house and so much more. And her loan for her house also keeps coming every month.

16/04/2022 Stond de tijd stil. Yoica was op weg voor training met de koersfiets, toen ze een tragisch ongeval met een vrachtwagen kreeg. Hierbij verloor ze een deel van haar been. Daar lag ze hulpeloos op het asfalt. Yoica was onmiddellijk in levensgevaar, maar wonder boven wonder bleef ze helder, ondanks de pijn.
Door haar opleiding EHBO wist ze wat te doen. De ambulancedienst was lang onderweg. Eenmaal in het ziekenhuis heeft ze een spoedoperatie gehad.
Yoica houdt haar kranig. 1/05 zou ze normaal haar eerste wedstrijd rijden
Yoica’s motto? Er is maar 1 weg en die gaat vooruit. En voor deze weg heeft ze jullie hulp nodig, zodat ze haar droom toch kan waar maken! Want enkel en alleen met een nieuwe sportprothese komt ze er niet, de kosten gaan vanaf nu blijven opstapelen. Zoals het bij stellen van de prothese, een nieuwe auto, aanpassingen in huis en nog zoveel meer. En haar lening voor haar huis blijft ook alle maanden komen.
